Lucas Moore has represented high net worth individuals, funds, banks and corporates in international litigation and arbitration for 20 years. Lucas’ practice includes claims arising in financial services, international trade, trust, fraud, contentious insolvency, corporate governance/shareholder issues and reputational issues.

Lucas is well versed in forum and other jurisdictional matters and regularly advises on the use of injunctive relief (including anti-suit, freezing and search orders together with related contempt applications), governing law and enforcement issues.  Lucas’ experience also encompasses international requests for judicial assistance in the form of letters of request and litigation funding arrangements.

Lucas qualified in 2004 and worked at Jones Day before joining Payne Hicks Beach in July 2018.

  • a hedge fund in connection with an introduction fee dispute
  • an oil company in connection with disputed investment banking fees;
  • shareholder disputes involving an IT company and major brand;
  • car manufacturers with various contractual disputes;

  • an UHNW individual in international committal and conspiracy claims;
  • BES Finance Ltd (in liquidation) in connection with the Bank of Portugal’s resolution of Banco Espirito Santo SA;
  • the liquidators of Weavering Capital (UK) Limited in fraud proceedings;
  • Satyam in substantial fraud claims brought against it in England and the US;
  • expropriated bondholders in connection with the Dutch government’s nationalization and bail-in of SNS Reaal NV and SNS Bank NV,
  • two overseas banks in relation to complex mis-selling claims; and
