Iain Percy admits he is torn between home and America’s Cup success
Sailor Iain Percy admits to The Metro that he is torn between the call of home and America's Cup success. He lost his best friend and fellow Olympic gold medallist Andrew Simpson in a crash in San Francisco Bay last year. Simpson was trapped as the catamaran capsized.
Percy will returh to the UK this year for Bart's Bash - a project that will see a world record attempt planned for 21 September which Percy wants sailing clubs all over the world to hold a regatta at the same time. Another project is the Andrew Simpson Foundation which is also well under way and saw it's launch on 9 May 2014.
