The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust 2010
The EMCT extended a big thank you to all at PHB for their support over the past year. The Trust is now able to work with every young persons primary cancer treatment centre in the UK and has also been able to introduce a very successful new trip for those aged 18-24 just out of treatment for cancer or leukaemia and will work with more hospitals dealing with this age group in 2011. In addition, a total of 122 young people experienced sailing for the first time, the "Return to Sail" activities attracted another 102 young people back and a training week for 15 young adults who had previously sailed with the Trust took place so that they could return as volunteers in the summer.
The feedback from the young people and their parents has been amazing and highlights the impact of the work the Trust does:
"It was an excellent experience for Alex, it gave him the chance to be a person, rather than a patient or a child." Mother of Alex, 16 from LiverpoolBack to Charity Updates Listing
