Simon Beccle and his client, Tini Owens, who lost Supreme Court marriage fight both welcome divorce law reform
Comments by Simon Beccle, family law specialist and Partner in the Family Department at Payne Hicks Beach and his client Tini Owens, following the vote in the House of Commons on 8 June 2020 in which MPs approved the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill on its second reading. The Bill which introduces “no-fault or no-conduct” divorce is a direct consequence of the Supreme Court’s failure in the 2018 Judgment in Tini Owens v Hugh John Owens to grant her a divorce. Both Simon Beccle and Tini Owens’ comments were reported widely by the Press Association and in numerous regional and national publications across the UK, as well as international publications and by major broadcasters.
