Payne Hicks Beach Adds Two Significant Hires

Top London law firm Payne Hicks Beach is pleased to announce two important hires in the Employment and Company and Commercial departments. Kevin James joins the firm as an Employment Partner from Royds Solicitors and Howard Taylor has been appointed as a Senior Associate in the Company and Commercial department, joining from Fox Williams. Both appointments are effective from 26 September 2016.

Kevin James brings extensive experience advising employers and senior executives on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. He has particular expertise in health and safety and regulatory law and was previously a prosecutor for health and safety matters in the public sector. In addition, Kevin is a highly-skilled advocate and has represented large national employers both in the employment tribunals and courts.

The Company and Commercial department has been further enhanced by the appointment of Howard Taylor as a Senior Associate. Howard is a corporate lawyer and specialises in the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, private equity transactions, joint ventures and public company listings and fundraisings.  He is instructed by both domestic and overseas clients across a number of diverse business sectors.

Howard’s appointment comes shortly after the arrival from Fox Williams of Nick Sayers as a Partner in the Company and Commercial department. Nick specialises in corporate finance, predominantly advising on mergers and acquisitions and listings on AIM.

Kevin James, Partner at Payne Hicks Beach, says of his appointment:

“It is a pleasure to be joining such a distinguished firm. Payne Hicks Beach provides an ideal environment to deliver expert and tailor-made advice to employers on a variety of employment matters, both contentious and non-contentious.”

Alastair Murdie, Senior Partner, comments on the new hires:

“The firm is very pleased to welcome two very experienced lawyers, Kevin James and Howard Taylor, to the Employment and Company and Commercial departments respectively. They will add real value and we are continuing to attract key hires as we further strengthen our existing client offering.”
