Nick has a corporate transactional legal practice. He acts on the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, typically in the deal size range of £2-100 million, although some transactions have been substantially larger.
He also acts on fund raising of different kinds, including by means of private equity and IPO.
Nick acts for clients in a number of sectors, including financial services, manufacturing, technology and professional services. Clients include main market and AIM listed companies, high net worth individuals, owner managers, and private equity and sovereign wealth funds.
Recent work includes acting for the owners of a north sea oil and gas services business on its sale to a US private equity house for a consideration of approximately £60 million; acting for the owners of a UK technology business on its sale to a US private equity house for a consideration of approximately £10 million; and acting for the managers of a UK financial services business on a buy in/buy out where the consideration was approximately £8 million.
Nick is a graduate of Oxford University and he trained at Slaughter and May.
Nick is active in The International Bar Association and in the Quoted Companies Alliance.
