Dispute Resolution Crime Associate 2-4 Years PQE

The firm wishes to recruit a 2-4 years PQE Solicitor to join the Defence & Investigations team in the Dispute Resolution Department, working closely with the partners within the department.

The Team

The Dispute Resolution Department comprises 12 Partners, 1 Consultant, 3 Legal Directors, 1 Counsel, 2 Senior Associates, 11 Associates and 2 Trainees who offer a full range of litigation services including commercial disputes, intellectual property issues, insolvency, asset/debt recovery and more. The wider team handles every type of commercial and residential property dispute. With niche practices in crime, sports, education, entertainment and other dispute areas, there is a considerable depth to their expertise.

We are seeking a talented and driven Criminal Associate (2–4 years PQE) to join our dynamic and highly regarded Criminal Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a passion for criminal defence work to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

You will work on and manage a varied caseload of criminal matters, including police station attendances, Magistrates’ and Crown Court work. You will be expected to provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients, often in sensitive and high-profile matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Representing clients at police stations and courts
  • Preparing cases for trial and liaising with counsel
  • Advising clients on a range of criminal matters including serious crime
  • Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Contributing to business development and maintaining client relationships

About You:

  • 2–4 years PQE with solid experience in criminal defence
  • Police Station Accreditation (essential)
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to client care and access to justice
