AB v CD Nos1 and 2, FRB v DCA Nos1-4
We acted for the wife in this litigation, spanning six reported judgments in a case where following a fourteen-year marriage, it became apparent that the child of the parties was not in fact the husband’s biological son.
These proceedings included claims in tort for deceit (by misleading the husband into believing the child was his) and with the issue of how and when the child should be given information about their biological father. The later judgments dealt with whether the deceit amounted to conduct that should impact on the financial award and whether Covid amounted to an event that should invalidate the financial orders made. We were successful in defeating the husband’s claims in deceit and in securing for the wife a financial order of £64M.
