Risk and Compliance Associate

The Business Services team wish to recruit an experienced Risk and Compliance specialist to join its busy but extremely friendly Risk and Compliance team.

The Firm

Payne Hicks Beach is a 46 partner firm of solicitors based in offices at 10 New Square, Lincoln’s Inn. In total the firm comprises approximately 220 staff. The firm provides specialist legal services to private and commercial clients. We are best known for our family and private client work and are widely regarded as one of the very best of the small number of firms in the UK who provide these specialist services at the highest level. We also have an excellent reputation in many other areas of law (rated in both Chambers and Legal 500).

The Role

The role is likely to encompass a broad range of Risk and Compliance responsibilities, including some or all of the following:

  1. Assisting with responses to complaints.
  2. Assisting with responses to Data Subject Access Requests.
  3. Assisting with responses to SRA enquiries and investigations.
  4. Assisting with suspicious activity reports.
  5. Developing and delivering training, including induction training for new joiners.
  6. Assisting with operational issues arising on firm and client matters.
  7. Creating and implementing project plans.
  8. Dealing with sanctions issues.
  9. Signposting to relevant individuals, departments and agencies.
  10. Setting up and maintaining registers.
  11. Attending and presenting at meetings.
  12. Drafting and maintaining policies.
  13. Drafting and maintaining retainer documents.
  14. Managing file audits.
  15. Preparing reports and assessments.
  16. Keeping up-to-date with developments in the relevant areas.
  17. Assisting with client due diligence.

The Individual

The ideal candidate will likely have 5+ years’ experience in a Risk and Compliance role at a top-500 law firm.
