Clare Hetherington

In particular she is experienced in: 

• advising on complex estate and inheritance tax planning including cross-border matters;  

• UK tax, residence and asset structuring advice for high net worth families relocating to and leaving the UK; 

• advising on family succession issues including family businesses, preservation of family wealth and governance; 
• creation of new trusts and advising on the tax and trust implications of structures resident in the UK and offshore  

She also has experience in preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney. 

Clare is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) holding a STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates.  Clare achieved a distinction in the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients. 

Clare trained at Payne Hicks Beach, qualifying into the private client department in 2016 and was promoted to senior associate in 2021. Clare read Music at Oxford University before training to be a Solicitor.
