He was a practising criminal barrister before his career in politics, and his part-time role with Payne Hicks Beach reflects his wish to resume his legal practice and contribute to the ongoing success of the firm.
“We are delighted to welcome Sir Robert to our senior team at Payne Hicks Beach,” comments Dominic Crossley, Head of Dispute Resolution. “His commitment to the law has been evident throughout his political career, and his unique insight and experience will be of significant value to the firm and its clients.”
“I am thrilled to be able to return in part to the work of a lawyer,” adds Sir Robert Buckland, MP. “Alongside my central work as a serving MP to my constituents in South Swindon, this consultancy role at such a reputable firm as Payne Hicks Beach allows me to balance my life between the work I am honoured to do in public office and the career I trained in as a barrister.”
Sir Robert Buckland will be working for Payne Hicks Beach part-time, and his duties and responsibilities to public office remain his primary focus.
