Overview
Sarah Buechel is an Associate in the Private Client team at Payne Hicks Beach.
Sarah advises UK and international individuals, trustees, executors, executors, landed estates and partnerships on tax, succession and estate planning matters. Her work often involves complex trust structures, cross-border considerations and multi-generational planning.
Sarah works closely with the firm’s probate, agricultural property, contentious and corporate teams.
Expertise
Sarah regularly advises on:
- will and estate planning;
- arriving/leaving the UK and the statutory residence test;
- trusts comprised of family wealth, farming/agricultural assets and business assets;
- the administration of high value estates; and
- mental capacity matters in the context of lifetime gifts, wills and lasting powers of attorney.
Qualifications & Accreditations
Sarah graduated with a first-class degree in Archaeology and Anthropology from Durham University, receiving academic prizes for achieving the highest marks on her course.
Before qualifying as a solicitor, Sarah worked within a leading Court of Protection team.
Sarah joined Payne Hicks Beach upon qualification in September 2022.
