Dean is a solicitor in the Private Client department advising UK and international clients on a broad range of tax, trust, estate and succession planning issues.
He is experienced in advising in relation to and preparing UK Wills and advising on capacity issues for clients, including preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and Advance Decisions to Refuse Treatment. He undertakes probate work and the administration of complex estates and also assists with contentious trust and estate work and landed estates matters. He also is experienced in advising clients with philanthropic aims on UK charity law, advising in relation to suitable charitable structures and creating and registering these with the Charity Commission.
Dean’s expertise as a Chartered Tax Adviser complements his legal skillset and he regularly helps clients navigate technical personal tax and compliance issues within their estate planning and trust matters. He is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers.
Dean read Natural Sciences at Cambridge University where he was Organ Scholar of Downing College. He completed his training contract with Taylor Wessing and joined Payne Hicks Beach upon qualification in September 2016.
