Dean Ryan is a Legal Director in the Private Client team and heads Payne Hicks Beach’s Probate Team. He advises UK and international individuals, families, trustees and family offices on estate planning, probate, trusts, taxation and succession planning. Known for his pragmatic and commercially focused approach, Dean specialises in lifetime estate planning and complex, high-value estates with domestic and cross-border elements, helping clients preserve wealth, manage tax liabilities and navigate sensitive family and fiduciary matters with confidence.

Qualifications & Accreditations
Dean read Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and was Organ Scholar of Downing College. He trained at Taylor Wessing before joining Payne Hicks Beach on qualification in 2016. A Chartered Tax Adviser and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, he is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers. Dean is recognised as a “Rising Star” in the Spear’s Tax & Trust Index.
He is described in The Legal 500 UK as “an extremely able team member” who is “readily available and has a real interest and understanding of his clients’ affairs.”
