1st SLAPP Ruling Delivers Symbolic But Limited Landmark – Jamie Hurworth for Law 360

Jamie Hurworth of Payne Hicks Beach said. Hurworth said that the court focused on determining whether the information in question was about economic crime and whether the claimant’s conduct intended to cause inconvenience to the defendant.

“This issue will be difficult to assess, because claimants cannot be compelled to give evidence about their intentions, and none was provided here,” Hurworth added.
