There is no specific law which prohibits the recording of footage and posting it online without consent, but the law does protect a person’s right to a private life. The practical difficulty is that the people taking or uploading this footage are often individual content creators, rather than media organisations. They may be based overseas or they may have less regard for people’s rights because of the financial incentive to them via social media platforms.’

Jamie also previously featured in the BBC on the same topic earlier this year. Further analysis from Jamie can also be found here: Covert Sexualised Filming for Social Media Content: Online Trends and Actionable Offences.
