Ben is shortlisted for the Wellbeing Champion Award due to his work spearheading the Mental Health & Family Breakdown initiative, launched in March 2024. The programme was borne from Ben’s concern for clients presenting with mental health issues during family proceedings which varied from those who became extremely distressed to those who experienced mental health breakdowns and, in turn, this highlighted the toll that acting for vulnerable clients can have on legal professional themselves. With his overriding concern that the care of the mental and emotional health of clients, each other, and ourselves, as individuals, is a duty that must be taken seriously, Ben has been the driving force behind the production of a range of peer-reviewed guides by a collaboration of psychologists, psychiatrists, academics, social workers and lawyers. Ben has ensured that these valuable resources are easily available to anyone who wishes to access them and the suite of documents can be found on a dedicated webpage our website.
Payne Hicks Beach is very proud that Ben has been named a finalist at the Resolution Awards and wishes him the very best of luck, together with all finalists.
The winners will be announced at the Resolution Awards Ceremony celebrating the champions of Family Justice on 19 September 2024.
