Craig Parrett is a Partner in the Insolvency and Restructuring team, specialising in corporate and personal insolvency, restructuring and insolvency litigation. With over 17 years’ experience, he advises office holders, creditors, directors and individuals on complex, high-value matters. Craig is particularly known for his expertise in directors’ duties, insolvency investigations and technical advisory work, as well as his strong advocacy in the Insolvency and Companies Court. He provides commercially focused, strategic advice across both contentious and non-contentious insolvency scenarios.
Expertise
Craig specialises in:
- Advises on corporate insolvency matters, including winding-up petitions, administrations and pre-pack transactions, delivering strategic restructuring solutions
- Represents office holders and stakeholders in insolvency litigation, including misfeasance, preferences and transactions at undervalue
- Defends directors facing Insolvency Act claims and advises on directors’ duties, including complex issues such as illegal dividends and overdrawn loan accounts
- Provides specialist advice on Section 216 and prohibited name issues, as well as broader technical insolvency and governance matters
- Handles personal insolvency cases, including asset realisation, income payment orders, annulments and complex IVAs with issues involving capacity or non-cooperative debtors
- Advises on debt enforcement strategies, including personal guarantee disputes and bankruptcy proceedings
- Regularly appears as an advocate in the Insolvency and Companies Court and County Courts

Craig joined Payne Hicks Beach as a Partner in October 2025, bringing over 17 years of experience in insolvency and restructuring. He is a seasoned advocate, regularly appearing before Insolvency and Companies Court Judges. A published author for Tolley’s Insolvency, he also contributes to training, conferences and pro bono initiatives supporting access to justice.
