Scott Goldstein agreed the timeline is short and urged landlords and agents to be prepared. He commented:
Scott commented: “There is significant work to be done before the first phase of reforms is implemented in May.”
He further warned: “These regulations will apply to both oral and written tenancies, creating potential pitfalls for the unwary. Penalties for non-compliance include fines of up to £40,000 and criminal liability in some cases. It is essential that landlords and agents fully understand and prepare for these changes.”
